The department is aware of the various challenges faced by the students while looking for jobs, therefore keeping this in mind the main target of the department is to nurture graduates who can fit well in the current market demand.
The department of economics is one of the major departments established under the faculty of Social Sciences. The department is highly reputed and recognized for maintaining high standards of teaching learning process. The department has state of the art infrastructural support in the form of dedicated computer lab, Digital Library , Access to various National and International Journals of reputed and large number of reference and textbooks in the college library. The department offers BA (Economics as an Elective Subject) three year degree programme, two year MA Economics programme.
