Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) in the college is a body mandated by the UGC Equity Regulations to protect marginalized staff and students from discrimination. The Equal Opportunity Cell is established to address the issues related to staff & students belonging to Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Caste on a continual basis. The main objective of the Equal Opportunity Cell is to help and empower the persons with disabilities, students to participate fully in the academic, intellectual, social and cultural life of college on an equal basis.
Objectives of EOC:
- To promote diversity and inclusive practices in the college & provide the disadvantaged groups with adequate opportunities.
- To ensure a barrier free access to all buildings of College such as Departments, Libraries, Hostels and offices.
- To examine all possible ways in which the SC/ ST, OBC and minority groups could be helped.
- To ensure that there is no discrimination in the college on grounds of caste or minority status.
Key Functions of EOC:
- Grievance Redressal: Receive, investigate and resolve complaints regarding discrimination or unfair treatment.
- Counselling and Support: Provide academic, financial and socio-emotional guidance to disadvantaged students.
- Awareness Programs: Conduct workshops, seminars and orientation events to build an inclusive campus culture.
- Welfare Monitoring: Help students access government scholarships and institutional support schemes.
